A list of some free blog directories
There are tons of free blog directories
on the net, and being free means they are easy to join. However, it must be said that although free, it doesn’t mean that they will accept all submissions. Far from it. They will only accept around 40-60% of blogs, whereas with paid directories the statistics are higher. Directories do not simply list your websites, but are a way of interacting with like-minded people, with whom you can swap and share ideas. My only drawback is the length of time it takes for a site to be approved on submission; between 12 and 48 hours. if you have time to wait though, it’s not really a problem. Anyway, here are a few high ranking free directories:
BlogCatalog is one of the largest directories on the market. However, it’s not just a blog directory, but a social networking arena. It has going on, interesting posts in the discussion board.
Blogs-Collection is listed in categories by Country, which lists the top 50 countries and the top 100 blogs.
Globe of Blogs With this blog, your blog will be listed, even if you don’t link back to them, unlike some other free blogs.
Bloghop is very simple to join; no confirmation links. This site matches your blog with readers based on tags. Although I heard their customer services is well, lets just say, its not the best. (A rumour?)
BlogDirs is a directory without too much paraphernalia. However, take note they mainly accept sites with a page rank. Sites with a zero page rank are put in a queuing system.

For a list of 48 Priority Directories that should be on every bloggers’ “must join” list visit my blog at:
Blog Directories
You should submit to 3-5 directories per day.
If you combine blog directory backlinks with the backlinks from the resource boxes of articles you submit (on topics closely related to your blog’s most important keywords), your link popularity will strengthen greatly with resulting free targeted search engine traffic.
Best of success,
