If you haven’t already done so, then sign up with YahooGroups. This is where people with a shared interest meet online and stay informed of happenings relevant to their area of interest. I am a member of PayingWriters Jobs, which is listed in the Entertainment and Arts category. This is a mailing list for paying writers and editors jobs, be it permanent, contract, freelance or otherwise.

I receive daily listings on freelance writing jobs. For example, today I received an email request for someone to ‘review, critique and edit an email marketing message.’ Another request  asked for science fiction writers, to produce work for an anthology of  science fiction writing; Writers Weekly are looking for entrants for a short story competition……… Each day it’s like opening a brand new box of chocolates, not knowing what you will be receiving.  

 CriticalWriting is another good category. This is a place where you can receive positive criticism on your work. (not for the faint-hearted though!) And they actually make a statement saying: ‘fragile egos need not apply.’ In the category Authors Attic, authors of every genre come to interact and give support to one another.

There are so many groups on this site, and not just relating to writing. You can find business and finance, schools and education and a whole lot more. You  can even start your own group, that is if  your group is not already listed. However, most of the time you will find a group of your choice quite easily.
