Google’s Guideline On Submissions
It’s quite wise to familiar yourself with some of the guidelines laid down by Google. When you’re ready to publish your site, the first thing Google talks about is submitting your site using their Google submission form.
One word of advice though, don’t be in a hurry to use their Google submission form, or any of the other top search engine submission forms. It normally takes Google for example 4-6 weeks for your site to be indexed. Although Google doesn’t broadcast this, it merely states in its Guideline that: ‘We cannot make any predictions or guarantees about when or if they will appear.’
Feed The Bot.com is a website which explains Googles guidelines for webmasters. For example Google talks about how to ensure you have enough text links and static links on your site. Now if you are unfamiliar with such terms, then you wouldn’t understand what Google is talking about. Feed the Bot simplifies the guidelines making it easier for anyone to understand.

Hi, I’ve never tried that feedthebot.com but I might give it a try. I’ve always used the Google submission form but most of the time it doesn’t take long to get the site crawled.

Thank you for your comment. I think it would also depend how good a shape your site is in. If a website is new and lacks link populartiy, it will not be indexed. The GoogleBot will do its ’rounds’every few weeks, until such time there are pages on the web linking to a new page.
